Product Description:

The Nokia 7710 Theme Studio for Symbian OS is a PC Tool to be used to create theme packages for the Nokia 7710 smartphone. Themes are used to change the look of your mobile phone user interface (UI). For example, the tool allows you to customize application icons, color schemes and logical fonts and colors. Additionally, items specific to individual applications, such as the icon used to represent that application on the mobile phone UI can be customised. The tool is not meant to be used to edit the individual bitmaps, rather a commercial graphical editor should be used for this task. Once the theme is created it can be exported and used both on the SDK emulator and the Nokia 7710 smartphone.

Basic Requirements:

- Microsoft Windows 2000 SP4 or Microsoft Windows XP SP2.
- 800 MHz Pentium processor or faster.
- 256 MB RAM recommended.
- 500 MB disk space.
- Display supporting 32 bit color with a minimum of 1024 x 768 resolution.

Additional Requirements:
------------------------

- Nokia 7710 SDK for Symbian OS.
- A graphical editor.


Compatibility Issues:
=====================

- Theme packages created with Theme Studio are only compatible with the Nokia 7710 smartphone and SDK.
- A graphical editor that supports PSD files is recommended in order to use the layer information.


Known Problems and Features:
============================

- For viewing the theme it needs to be installed in the SDK or device.
- Once graphics have been edited by the graphical editor the view in the Theme Studio needs to be refreshed.
- If the user is a “restricted user” on the PC, which is running Microsoft Windows 2000, then the emulator panics on start up when launched from the Theme Studio. If the user is a “standard user” or an administrator then the emulator runs up fully when launched from the Theme Studio.
- The emulator currently shows the following warning message "File not compatible with device and may not work" when installing a SIS file generated by the Theme Studio, this message can be ignored.
