What is an APN?

An Access Point Name (APN) is a GPRS or high-speed data connection provided by your telecom operator. If your phone is not set up with an access point, you can add one manually.

Note: You cannot use a WAP gateway as your Internet access point.

Adding access points

  1. Open your phone's "Tools" folder and go to "Settings "
  2. Select "Connection" and "Access points"
  3. Press "Options" and select "New access point"
  4. If asked, choose "Default settings"

Opera provides an on-line guide for setting up access points:
www.opera.com/connect/

Tip: Visit the on-line guides with your desktop browser.

Establishing a connection

A connection dialogue will pop up if you are not connected to the Internet. Select an access point, and your phone will establish a connection.

Tip: You can set a default access point, and even set Opera to connect automatically.
